At this family-run motel, the rooms are simple, spare, and fairly dated, but the location, just across the street from the water at the Seawall entrance to Acadia, is hard to beat. This is the closest you’ll come to feeling like you’ve gotten away from it all, short of sleeping in a tent. Ask for a room on the second floor, which offers better views of the water. The staff here is exceptional—be sure to get their input if you’re planning to explore Mount Desert Island beyond the park, as they’ve got fantastic suggestions for hikes and nature walks.
