These cute, if basic lodgings are just around the corner from the chic Passage du Grand Cerf. This is definitely a budget hotel: The doors feel a little light and the carpets are a little worn, but the ceilings are high, and the atmosphere is homey. The old-fashioned bedspreads lay over firm mattresses, and rooms on the upper floors get lots of light. This is one of the few hotels left in Paris that still has cheap rooms with toilets on the landing; doubles with just a sink go for 59€ (a shower is in the hall). For an in-suite toilet and shower, you’ll pay just 72€. At these prices, don’t expect TVs or toiletries. The hotel is just steps away from Les Halles and a block or so from the restaurants and food shops of rue de Montorgueil. Reserve well in advance.
