KLM requested a completely new destination guide for their site to maximise the amount of traffic coming to the site, in addition to ensuring their customers would have a complete travel planning experience when visiting the guide, allowing them to fully research different destinations and then seamlessly plan and book their trip. This content had to appeal to an international audience and be available in multiple European languages.
Frommer’s Unlimited created a multi-lingual content package of 98 cities, 73 countries and 92 airports and provided the content as a hosted service.
KLM’s site was created in six languages including; English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian. On each site users can research a range of information including; events, things to do, themed walking tours, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, practical city info, airport guides, city transportation, 5-day weather forecasts and climate charts with points of interest displayed on a KLM branded map.
