The photogenic medieval village of Valbonne looks serene and tranquil, but it's actually a hub for the 30,000-strong international community that live and work at nearby Sophia Antipolis, a well-landscaped technological park where more than 1,000 national and international companies have offices. It's so Anglophone that it has an English bookshop, grocery store, and cinema. The pretty town square is packed with locals dining outside all year around. It's also next door to two of the Riviera's largest nature parks: La Valmasque and La Brague.
